Our Lighthouse

One night, the captain of a battle ship spotted a strange light, rapidly closing in on them. He ordered a signalman to flash a message to the unidentified vessel, "alter your course 10 degrees to the South." Back came the reply, "alter your course 10 degrees to the North."

More determined he snapped a second order. "Alter your course 10 degrees. I am a captain." The response came back, "Alter your course 10 degrees. I am seaman. Third class Smith." By this time, the light was growing brighter and larger. Infuriated, the captain personally signaled, "alter your course. I am a battleship." The reply came back quickly "alter your course. I am a lighthouse."

Over 600 times in the Bible. Jesus is called Lord. That means he's the boss. New Testament believers greeted one another by saying, Jesus is Lord. It meant his word is final. He can call for any changes he wants or any price he chooses. His word demands it and his love deserves it. He is our lighthouse.
