Description:
Ministry Function The Vice President - Convoy of Hope Foundation serves as a senior leader and strategic advisor to Convoy of Hope and the COH Foundation (COHF). This role provides visionary leadership for estate gifts and non-cash giving, advancing COHF’s mission through innovative strategies, deep donor engagement, and strong cross-functional collaboration. Acting as a Philanthropy Architect, the VP drives growth in planned and asset-based giving while elevating COHF’s national and global presence. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Strategic Leadership: Provide executive-level leadership for COHF, ensuring alignment with organizational mission and long-term growth objectives. Legacy & Planned Giving: Lead and implement legacy giving initiatives, expanding new estate commitments and stewarding existing estate gifts. Non-Cash Giving Strategy: Design and execute strategies for complex gifts (publicly traded stock, QCDs, donor-advised funds, charitable gift annuities, pooled income funds, etc.). Donor Engagement: Grow membership in the Hope Society; oversee storytelling, recognition, and engagement strategies for donors and partners. Board & Governance: Partner with the COHF Board by providing timely and accurate reporting, ensuring effective governance and oversight. Collaboration & Coaching: Serve as a senior advisor to the Development Team, coaching the Development team and building capacity in planned giving and non-cash strategies. External Representation: Act as a primary spokesperson for COHF with stakeholders, partners, media, and the public. Operational Excellence: • Establish scalable processes, systems, and procedures to support gift planning and execution, including donor documentation and compliance with gift acceptance policies. • Operate in accordance with COH policies and procedures, while proactively identifying process improvements that drive efficiency and maintain compliance. • Manage Foundation cost center responsibly, ensuring adherence to approved budgets. Performance & Fundraising Goals: Consistently meet or exceed established fundraising goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) on an annual basis. Travel & Donor Hosting: Travel domestically and internationally to engage, steward, and host new and potential high-capacity donors. Team Leadership: Recruit, develop, and lead a team of philanthropy architects and Foundation team members to accelerate growth in giving and strengthen organizational capabilities. Marketing & Communications: Direct the development of communication strategies and campaigns to raise awareness and expand legacy and non-cash giving internally and externally. Fulfills other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities A bachelor’s degree is preferred. 10+ years of experience in philanthropy, fundraising, or related fields, with significant expertise in estate and non-cash giving. Proven track record of developing and executing complex gift strategies at a senior or executive level. Strong ability to engage high-net-worth donors, boards, and professional advisors. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Demonstrated experience in building and leading high-performing teams. Strategic thinker with strong operational execution skills. Ability to work with a wide variety of people, personalities, cultures, and temperaments. Possesses knowledge of PC software programs, including Gmail, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Slides. Displays familiarity with online project management platforms like Monday.com. Demonstrates strong organization and customer service skills and can handle several projects at one time. Exhibits the ability to be detail-oriented and can follow through without direct supervision. Attends and actively participates in COH At Home Week meetings and activities as a required responsibility to the organization and fellow team members. Serves as an advocate for the ministry, striving to nurture, broaden, and develop financial and other resource opportunities to support and expand organizational and program ministry. Positively represents the ministry of Convoy of Hope, including its mission statement and core values, to all outside constituencies.
