Position Overview: Advance Industrial Mechanical (AIM) is seeking a dedicated and skilled HVAC Technician to join our growing team. This position focuses on the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial HVAC systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in troubleshooting large commercial systems (up to 50 tons), advanced controls, and refrigeration cycles, as well as the ability to mentor and guide junior level technicians. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot and repair large commercial HVAC systems (up to 400 tons), including chillers, VRF, and water-cooled systems Maintain and repair screw chillers and cooling towers Troubleshoot ERVs and VRF systems Replace blower shafts and bearings Evaluate and improve airflow and ductwork systems Service low-temperature refrigeration systems Diagnose and repair pumps, chillers, and water-cooled components Perform pump alignment and replacements Provide training and mentorship to Level 1–3 Technicians Performance Expectations Maintain 85%+ efficiency on service calls Deliver high-quality, safe, and timely work Follow company policies, procedures, and industry standards Communicate effectively with customers on technical issues and solutions Environmental & Physical Conditions Work in varying weather conditions with high physical demands Regular use of power and hand tools Uphold company values: treat people well, do the right thing, run a great business Benefits: Competitive pay based on experience Bonus opportunities, on-call pay, and overtime pay Health Insurance Dental, Vision, Life, and Supplemental Insurance available. 401(k) plan Company vehicle and a fuel card (for qualified candidates) Company issued van and tools (for qualified candidates) Company issued phones (for qualified candidates) Uniforms and yearly work boot allowance. Qualifications:
Job Requirements 3+ years of experience in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of large commercial/industrial HVAC systems (chillers, VRF, cooling towers, etc.) Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC components, including large compressors, motors, economizers, and VAV systems. Ability to work independently and manage service calls with minimal supervision. Ability to diagnose and repair systems up to 50 tons Must be able to lift heavy equipment (up to 80 lbs) and work in a variety of physical conditions (e.g., climbing ladders, working in confined spaces). Ability to read complex schematics and technical manuals Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Excellent communication skills, both with customers and team members. Ability to mentor and train junior technicians (Level 1 & Level 2) to develop their technical skills. EPA Universal Certification for refrigerant handling. Clean Driving Record and the ability to drive a company vehicle. Ability to pass fit-for-duty evaluations for contract requirements. Ability to pass pre-hire drug screening and maintain random drug screening per company policy Preferred Qualifications: Experience with large commercial HVAC systems, including chillers, VRF, ERV, and water-cooled systems. BAS Training (Preferred) for troubleshooting and integrating building automation systems with HVAC equipment.
