I’m a married mom of three human babies and two furbabies. My husband, Joey, and I have been married for almost 21 years. I was a single mom for 7 years before meeting the love of my life. My daughter, Taylor, is 27, a nurse, and getting married in April! My son, Luke, is 18, and a senior in high school and Hayden is 17 and a junior in high school. We have a Pomeranian named Ace that I lovingly refer to as a PomeJERKian sometimes, because, well, he can be! We also have the sweetest 1 year old Goldendoodle named Charlie (Charleston after our favorite city).

Some of my fave things to do are hang with my family at our son’s baseball games. They both play high school and travel ball so there are a LOT of games. I love movies! Mostly action like James Bond, Jack Ryan type movies and our entire family are SuperHero nerds! I love boating, swimming, being by the pool, traveling, dancing, reading, and I’m a bit of a thrill seeker!

I’ve been in radio for 33 years! How is that possible???? Haha! I’ve worked in secular radio for most of that time, and it’s truly where I think God wanted me to be at that time, but NOW He is leading me to His Radio and I couldn’t be more excited!

My walk with God started with my dad. He was my first Christian influence. That said, we really weren’t in church much. We moved a LOT when I was a kid (10 different school by the time I was in 8th grade) and my mom was never really into the church “scene” that much. I was invited, by a friend, to VBS when I was 13 and I was saved during one of the alter calls. Around this time I also had a next door neighbor who was in her late 20s/early 30s who began taking me to church with her AND singing with her when she toured churches singing and playing an accordian!! By the way, I CANNOT sing, I just believe she was trying to include me! As most of us, I went through (and still do) spiritual seasons, but I learned to truly give myself to God and trust in HIM when I met my husband. I’m still learning to trust Him in all things.

Resources From the Show

Resources for those tough Conversations with your Children

If you're a parent or someone a child trusts and confides in, there may be conversations happening that you weren't ready for OR even conversations you may never have even thought to have. We've all been there.

How do we navigate the dialogue?

It's one conversation with teenagers, something different with younger children, and even our pre-schoolers are starting to have questions. Here are some great resources to help understand how to have those talks with the kids and what they can actually handle hearing at their age.

He Asked for Her Jeep and She Said Yes

Know that we are praying for you as you have these very heavy conversations with your family.

The number one topic in your home may be recent gun violence and questions from your child about guns and fears they may have about their safety while at school. Focus on the Family has some insight on the topic of gun violence here.

He Accidentally Ordered 31 Cheeseburgers

Our kids are being introduced to "role models" that you and I were not introduced to when we were younger and there are questions that may be asked, even from our pre-schoolers, about identity and sexuality. What should/could that conversation look like for you? Here are a couple of places to start.

Dinner With Dad

Let's say your child has a good friend that is of a different religion. Explaining different religions and reinforcing that Jesus is the Way, The Truth, and the Life can be tricky. Here's one way to start that conversation.

Pro-life or Pro-Choice? When your child says something like, "But it IS my body, so it should be my choice", what would be the response? Here are some insightful tools to use in that conversation.
