Prayer Time - Mending and Resetting

Jeff Jackson, a Greek scholar says the word “restore” in the original Greek, paints two pictures. First, fishermen mending their nets. Second, a doctor resetting a dislocated bone. What inside a broken net can't catch fish. So it must be taken out of service and repaired. And what about the Doctor Who reset a broken bone? He'll set it in a cast for several weeks and tell you not to use it.

Forgiveness and restoration are first cousins, but with one big difference: forgiveness can happen in an instant; restoration often requires time. The good news is that our God is in the business of resetting and restoring. Doctors who reset broken bones tell us that once they're truly healed, they're stronger than the original. He can do that for you. Don't be afraid of time out and time alone with him.

Jeremiah was told to go down to the house of the potter and watch him take a broken vessel and skillfully work it until it was beautiful once more. Today, The Potter wants to put you back together again. Galatians 6:1 says “If someone falls into sin, forgivingly restore him saving your critical comments for yourself. You might be needing forgiveness before the day is out.”
